Nevermind about the Screenshots
My account expires on March 11th, that will be my last day. In the past week I've died 4x, all due to lag and disconnects. Playing a mage right now is hard as it is with being so god damned nerfed, and when I get a percent towards my level I can't seem to fucking keep it for more than 20 minutes.
Oh, and heres a lovely Screenshot on the final lag death thats made me decide to not even fucking bother with this game anymore. Maybe I'll be back with the stat re-roll? Hopefully not, since NC Soft doesn't give a shit about their customers.
SquareEnix has about 20+ servers and on each one, they have a huge amount of players (ranging from 1500-3000 even) and I RARELY experience lag.
So, I wrote to NC.... It has been a long time since I've actually contacted their actual support team, and stupid me for thinking they give a shit. Here are the emails I've sent and the reply I got.
(To even show how bad I was lagging there, I hit restart and I still have hp but im clearly on the ground dead. This was during the 2x exp event)
For 3 of the lag deaths I just logged off right away, wasnt even in the mood to rebuff or say anything to anyone.
When I came back to game, this was within the first day of hunting. Another lag death.. I posted this on an earlier post too.
Here's me speaking with the monitor.
Now here are the emails:Response (GM Damaliscus) 02/26/2009 02:10 AM Hello Bobby,
We thank you for your inquiry. I am escalating your petition to a Senior Customer Support Representative to further assist you. Once they have reviewed your inquiry someone will be in contact with you as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Lineage Customer SupportCustomer (Bobby L) 02/26/2009 12:28 AM At 1:15am (EST) Thursday Morning, I died at the start of Dragon Valley Caves on the 5th floor. Obviously you can look at my character, I had plenty of MP to kill the few monsters there. There was an Ettin, Muryan, and Succubus Queen. I had killed or about to kill the Ettin, I hit the Queen a few times and I lagged for approximately 10 seconds. When the lag came through, I was dead. Ever since I renewed my account, people have been complaining of latency with the server. Obviously, this cannot be just my connection if half the server (or more in some cases) are having lag issues as well. I would like my experience restored
After I died not 1 day later due to lag death, heres the next email I sent.Customer (Bobby L) 03/01/2009 06:42 AM Now I just reached my goal of 75%, and I just lag died, again. I was on 70F of TOI and I was picking up my drops because I had hit my goal for the night. Honestly, mages are nerfed horribly right now, and when I do actually hunt I lag and die and lose experience. This happened at approximately 7:10am on March 1st, 2009. My characters name is Vigorous, on Depardieu Server. Unless my experience is restored for the other night in DVC and my death I just had about 5 minutes ago, I think I will just cancel my
account. This server is very instable and everyone is always complaing of lag/latency and disconnects. This is all just a waste of my time If I keep hunting for experience and then losing it due to lag. I have not died to a monster nor player in I don't know how long, I know how to use my escape hotkey, I'm not stupid or careless. I have been a long time customer with this company for at least 5 years. The least I think you guys could do is restore the experience I spent my time getting. I enjoy
playing this game, there's quite a few people here that I have fun with. Why should I bother playing a game If I keep dying to lag and dc'ing all the time? Please, put yourself in my shoes, wouldn't you be asking the same thing? Please, do whatever investigating or reports you have to do to restore my 2% experience, or email me if you need more information.
I don't know how much nicer I coulda been.
Here's the response I got back.Response (GM Lemoncobra) 03/02/2009 02:49 PM Hello,
Unfortunately, we are unable to restore any lost stats, items, experience, or pets except in cases of a significant network/server issue within our network. We will make a Lineage news announcement if this should happen.
If you would like to send us a path ping (in graph form) and trace route, we can forward it to our technical support department and they can further help you troubleshoot your issue. Directions on how to do this are at the following link:
Title: I experience lag or disconnect from Lineage often.

The Internet is a huge distributed network, and between your computer and our servers there are multiple points of failure that neither one of us can control. We work very hard to control as much as we can, but beyond our ISP and their Peers we have very little (if any) control. You have direct control over your ISP (or your choice of ISP at least), but even this may be somewhat limited. One of the facts of playing a game over the Internet is that things like disconnects, latency, packet loss, etc. will happen sometimes no matter what.
We hear a lot about "server lag" and it's impact on disconnects, but this is almost never an issue. There are occasional, unavoidable issues related to hardware, but the general performance of the servers is not an issue. Our hardware is top notch, and our networking team is monitoring server performance 24/7 for optimal performance.
With regards to restoring items, pets, experience etc., we only consider this in the case of a server wide issue that is within our control to some degree.

GMLemoncobra

Fine, whatever. Here's the next email I just sent before I logged on tonight.

Nothing against you, because I understand you're just doing you're job, but that is the most pathetic excuse I've ever heard. I don't really care which end (my connection or yours) is responsible, the fact is that I have died twice due to lag. I just want the experience that I spent time and hunted for. Take a look at my character's death tolls: When's the last time my mage, Vigorous has died from monsters when I'm actually NOT lagging? Have the leaders at NCSoft ever thought 'hmm, I wonder why so many people have quit Lineage?' It's because the other gaming corporations do a helluva lot more than you guys ever will. This is the worst customer support I have ever experienced. You also mentioned 'top notch equipment'? Bullshit. I can't log on for one day and not experience lag or someone else complaining about it. There are maybe 130-160 users on Dep Server, and at peak time sometimes it reaches 180-200. Guess what? I have played Final Fantasy XI online at they have 2,000+ people online on AVERAGE and I RARELY lagged there! So how the hell is your equipment 'top notch'? That is a damn lie. At least SquareEnix gives a shit about their customers, obviously you guys don't.

I don't know, I don't care, I give up. March 11th my account expires and so does my patience with this game.
